Day C.A.M.P.

You’ve heard the expression “A tired dog is a good dog.” In most cases, it’s true. Dogs need more exercise than you do (and neither of you will get enough by simply fetching the paper each morning.) In fact, most healthy dogs under the age of 3 need at least two hours of aerobic exercise each day. We have over 10,000 square feet of space specifically engineered for dogs at play, including an entire wing devoted five times a week to puppies (see Puppy Kinderplay and Puppy TeenPlay!) In C.A.M.P., our highly energetic staff makes sure each pet not only has a good time, but also socializes appropriately and releases excess energy that can contribute to bad behavior at home.

How It Works

Day C.A.M.P. is available to all breeds of well-mannered, sociable dogs who love to romp and play with other dogs. You simply bring your dog to us sometime after 6:30 a.m. during the work week. Your dog's day is filled with fun, exercise, spoiling and attention in a structured environment that doesn't 'undo' all the training you've done with your pet. Each dog receives Lap Time, Nap Time, and Biscuit Time with an experienced C.A.M.P. Counselor, along with many hours of Play Time with other dogs in our large indoor and outdoor exercise yards. Group 'Sits' and 'Waits' are featured attractions throughout the day, so not only is your pet getting physical exercise - he/she is getting relaxations and mental workouts as well!

Puppy KinderPlay

Puppies under 5 months of age are too young for the high physical and arousal level of adult dog daycares and Seattle area dog parks. Even so, getting puppies critical socializing and play outlets during the impressionable 10-20 week old stage is highly important to their healthy development. Puppy KinderPlay includes safe, supervised free-play with other puppies, group training exercises, potty training, good manners around people, and the ever-essential 'Quiet' training during rest periods. (If your puppy is a bit older, see Puppy TeenPlay, below.)

Offered three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only, we dedicate an entire wing of our facility and our most senior C.A.M.P. Counselors to your puppy in a healthy and enriched environment. Call us today to reserve your puppy's first play date!

Puppy TeenPlay

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we devote an entire wing of our Day C.A.M.P. to healthy play designed for older puppies, from 4-7 months of age. Still too early to expose your dog to the unpredictable environment of dog parks, we give your teenage puppy twice weekly opportunities to continue to socialize in a supervised environment, with appropriate rest times, good potty habits, polite manners and positive, group training moments together throughout the day. This is a natural 'next step' for puppies who have outgrown Puppy KinderPlay, but are not yet spayed or neutered and able to enroll in regular Day C.A.M.P.

Companion C.A.M.P.

For dogs that do not meet the criteria for our regular Day C.A.M.P. we have an alternative program that provides a similar level of mental, physical, and social stimulation called Companion C.A.M.P. This program is very well suited for dogs who have outgrown Day C.A.M.P., or would rather socialize with people than other dogs, or who respond better in smaller scale playgroups. Other good candidates are dogs who are picky about their playmates, dogs age 6 mos. and older who are still intact, and pets who are under-socialized or tend to guard resources. Space is very limited in this C.A.M.P., as each dog is evaluated and an individual play and social plan is created for them daily.

Senior Day C.A.M.P.

This C.A.M.P. is specifically designed for dogs who are no longer comfortable in the 'mosh pit' of regular Day C.A.M.P. activities. Generally, older dogs fit the bill - dogs who don't like getting run into, don't appreciate all the loud noises, and generally just want a more peaceful day. But peaceful does not mean sedentary...on the contrary! Dogs in this C.A.M.P. have a full and very active day! They go on group walks, do brain-teasing puzzles, play group soccer, greet Fetchikan guests, and watch the daily movie. Some even act as mentors to help train the youngsters in Puppy KinderPlay. Yes, they still go home tired! This C.A.M.P. is by approval only; generally reserved for social, healthy dogs 7+years in age.

Reservations

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing the best care, a reservation is the best way we can guarantee space for your pet in our busy daycare. Of course, we always welcome your pet at the last minute if we have space available - reservation or not! But it's easy to make your reservation. Tell us which days you would like to reserve and bring your dog in on those days. If your schedule changes, that's okay - simply call us 24 hours in advance, or use the link to the right, should you need to cancel or rearrange your pet's stay for that day. Contact us for more information!

How to Enroll

Not every dog is comfortable in the high energy environment of doggie daycare. In order to be sure that our Day C.A.M.P. is the right environment for your dog, and that our fencing can safely contain your dog, we require that all of our potential Day C.A.M.P.'ers come first for a half-day trial. Enrollment is easy, just call us to set up an appointment for your puppy's trial day, which will last approximately four hours. Contact us to get started!
